Abstract: An object is said to be levitated when it is suspended without any newlinephysical support When magnetic flux is used to achieve this the system is newlineknown as magnetic levitation system This technique eliminates friction and newlineproducts of frictionheat wear and tear of the levitated object This permits newlinehigher speed of movement of the levitated object and also keeps the system newlineclean As the use of lubricants is eliminated the system can be operated at newlinehigh temperatures also The technique finds application in a wide variety of newlineareas like magnetically levitated train silicon wafer transportation in clean newlineroom magnetic bearings energy storage through flywheel and micro robotics newline newline
