Abstract: | Nanoscience is the study of phenomena and manipulation of newlinematerials at atomic molecular and macromolecular scales whose properties newlinediffer from bulk materials Nanotechnology is the design characterization and newlineapplication of structures by controlling the shape and size at nanometer scale newlineThe nanomaterials have gained great interest due to their importance in newlinetechnological applications This thesis deals with the synthesis and newlinecharacterization of ZnO and Ni doped ZnO newlineWe have organized the thesis in to five chapters as follows Chapter1 presents the introduction of the nanomaterials ZnO is an newlineimportant IIVI semiconductor with wide band gap having applications in the newlinefield of optical magnetic catalytic and spintronic applications It also newlinediscusses about the properties crystal structure and doping characteristics of newlineZnO newlineChapter 2 focuses the scope of the present investigation newlineChapter 3 deals with the detailed explanation of the synthesis newlinemethod used to synthesize ZnO and Ni doped ZnO newlineChapter 4 includes the results of the present investigation and their newlinediscussions in this chapter This is further sub divided in to eleven sections newline41 to 411 in to the following factors as Overview of the present newlineinvestigation Xray Diffraction analysis High Resolution Scanning Electron newlineMicroscopy and Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy Transmission Electron newlineMicroscopy Thermal analysis of ZnO and Ni doped ZnO Optical properties newlineof ZnO and Ni doped ZnO X ray photoelectron spectroscopy Raman newlinespectroscopy Studies on Antibacterial activity Magnetic studies and newlineElectrical studies respectively newlineChapter 5 finally concludes with the research work done newline newline |
