Abstract: | Master Plans are prepared to improve and maintain city fabric with a conscious step towards to protect the environment we live in The preparation of Existing land use plan play a major role in the Master Plan process as it serves as the base for allocating appropriate location and requirement of land for various land uses in future Traditionally Cadastral maps have been used as the basis for preparation for Existing land use plan newlinewhich primarily concerns the land parcel boundary the use to which it is put into and the ownership details etc The Cadastral map preparation is a long drawn process and the existing cadastral maps have not been updated for a long time The accuracy of the same is limited to the precision of the instruments used at that point of time In recent times the High resolution satellite imagery have been used effectively for capturing the land cover more accurately and they have been jelled along with the Cadastral maps for preparing Existing land use plans Although the technology of High resolution satellite imagery is more advanced and has the capability of capturing the land cover in a shorter span of time, it has its own disadvantages such as distortions in shape area distance cloud cover shadow effect resolution and lack of physical boundary of land parcels etc It is bound to be inaccurate when they are used along with the Cadastral map newline |
