| Abstract: | The Induction Motor IM drives consist of various stages of power newlineconversion such as ACDC conversion DCDC conversion and DCAC newlineinversion in the front end This research work deals with the investigation of newlinedifferent power quality PQ parameters related to DCDC conversion part of newlineIM drives Conventionally the DC link part of IM drives consist of boost DCDC newlineconverter which steps up the DC link voltage twice that of the input newlinevoltage and maintains high ripple content in the DC link voltage Considering newlinethose two parameters the research work is divided into four modules newlineThe first module of this research work commences with the newlineinvestigation on suitability of advanced DCDC converter for IM drives The newlineadvanced DCDC converters such as VoltageLift Converter VLC and newlineSuperLift Converter SLC are tested for their suitability in IM drives and newlinetheir performance is compared with the boost converterbased IM drive newline newline |
