Abstract: Nurses are the key healthcare providers and share primary responsibilities of patient newlinecare. The nursing profession is one profession which requires a lot of commitment, newlineand the kind of challenges faced by the nurses is quite different from any other job. newlineThe nurses face challenges like working overtime, keeping themselves fit and healthy newlinefor the treatment of the patients, treatment of terminally ill patients, the risk of transfer newlineof any contagious disease from patients, etc. The challenges faced by them can impact newlinetheir overall well-being and their work-life balance too. It hence becomes imperative newlineon the part of the nurses and even the hospital management to measure the incidence newlineof these challenges on the work-life balance of the nurses and also try to measure their newlineeffectiveness in their work. Just measuring the impact would not be enough but newlineseeking remedies to overcome the same is also urgent since work-life balance is an newlineimportant aspect of any individual and the organization too. In hospitals, necessary newlinemeasures should be taken on working conditions, organizational climate and work newlinestress. The imbalance faced by the nurses could be due to their demographic variable newlinelike age, marital status, family members, children, etc. and also the work variables newlinelike the distance of workplace, shifts, etc. in the working environment. So, the current newlinestudy titled Impact of challenges faced by women in service sector on work-life newlinebalance-A study conducted for Nurses in Bangalore attempted to understand how newlinechallenges faced by nurses impact their work-life balance and how it affects their newlineeffectiveness at work. In the present study, the hospital nurses were found to have a newlinesatisfactory WLB and the correlation between various types of challenges and SWLB newlinewas found to be negative. newline
