There are significant writers who have newlinecontributed to the development of this Literature. It also gives a brief introduction to the life and works of the Indian women newlinewriters. This chapter discusses the novels of the select writer Manju Kapur and her newlinebiography. The Second chapter, Tradition versus Modernity deals with how the newlinetraditional Indian society limits woman s individual development and growth. newlineKapur s protagonists are bold and are seen rebelling against established social newlineinequalities and life s ambivalence. The third chapter entitled Culture and Conflicts newlineportrays how Manju Kapur is a distinguished figure in the world of post-modern newlinefiction as she has successfully left an indelible mark in the portrayal of women newlinecharacters along with their culture and inner conflicts in her novels.
