Abstract: The technological revolution has undoubtedly brought along many changes in the newlineworkplace today. Although it has allowed work to be carried out faster and more efficient, newlinemany employees are not comfortable with the implementation of technology as it involves newlinechange and uncertainty. Through comparison of the conditions of faculty status given to newlinelibrary Professionals in various institutions, certain patterns were brought to light. Library newlineProfessionals are asked to create oxygen every day, for little pay and with little recognition. newlineBut the salary of a library professional is less than that of a professor though the required newlinelevel of educational qualification is same for both. At present in India the status of the newlinelibrarian is confused and uncertain. However, some academic librarians in colleges and newlineuniversities are considered as faculty, and they hold similar academic ranks as professors. newlineThe issue of faculty status for academic librarians has been a hotly debated topic ever since newlineits inception. The professional status depends upon the rules that reflect the entry newlinequalification for the new aspirants who wants to join the profession, their future career newlineprospects, the level of training needed, amount of experience required. Psychoanalysis has a newlinedouble identity. It is a comprehensive theory about human nature, motivation, behavior, newlinedevelopment and experience. And it is a method of treatment for psychological problems and newlinedifficulties in living a successful life. Motivation is a psychological feature that arouses an newlineorganism to act towards a desired goal and elicits, control and sustains certain goal-directed newlinebehaviors. Therefore, librarians are not machines, their psychological needs and feelings are newlineto be catered for in order to enhance their optimal productivity. The study focuses some newlinefactors that could contribute to the job satisfaction of librarians and shows how their emotions newlinecould relatively be managed so as to enhance their productivity.
