Abstract: Cognitive abilities and processes were assumed to be universal, though individuals vary in their use of those abilities. Such differences were studied in various sub disciplines of mainstream psychology for example analytical psychology, differential psychology etc. Contrary to the idea of universality in cognitive abilities and processes, they appeared flexible for individuals of different culture and society as well as for individuals of within a society. newline
