Abstract: | The present doctoral research aimed at investigating the effects of newlineperceptual learning style preferences and language learning strategy use in the newlineEnglish language acquisition by the Yemeni students in the Departments of newlineEnglish at the colleges of Education in Yemen. The researcher presented and newlinediscussed the acquisition of English in the Yemeni context in the light of two newlinemain concepts: (1) perceptual language learning styles; (2) language learning newlinestrategy use. newline The main objectives of the study were (1) to investigate into the effects newlineof TEFL students perceptual learning style preferences on their language newlinelearning acquisition; (2) to find out the effects of TEFL students language newlinelearning strategy use on their language learning acquisition; (3) to examine the newlinerelationship between TEFL students language learning style and their newlineperception of language learning style preferences and (4) to investigate into the newlinerelationship between perceptual learning style preferences and language newlinelearning strategy use. newlineThis present study is based on the proposition that identifying the newlinelearners preferred perceptual learning style and the language learning strategy newlinethey use would help in matching the teaching methodology and newlinelearning/acquisition process. As a result, well-qualified learners would be newlineproduced after the completion of four years of studying English at university newlinelevel.
