One of the serious concerns plaguing the world is the limited newlineenergy reserves that are on the verge of extinction In order to preserve these newlinefor future generations it is essential to use remaining energy reserves newlinesparingly and to minimize the losses encountered in energy usage A majority newlineof losses in the electrical energy sector occur in the distribution side while newlinetransmission and subtransmission lines account for only about 30 of the newlinetotal losses In the distribution network there are two main distribution newlinenetwork lines namely primary distribution lines feeding High Tension HT newlineconsumers distribution transformers and secondary distribution lines low newlinevoltage distribution network LV network fed by distribution transformers in newlineIndia Hence LV network is the last link connecting the consumers and needs newlinemore consideration for optimizationAlthough there are many research papers discussing the newlinereconfiguration algorithms for loss minimization of distribution systems newlinehardly any work related to loss reduction in developing countries scenario is newlinereported newline newlineen_US
