Abstract: The automatic detection of target and shooting has emerged as a technique in a realistic newlinemanner within the field of automation. This is very useful in defence sector. The proposed newlineAutomatic Target Detection and Shooting (ATDS) system contributes a lot in the battle field to newlinerecognize and shoot the enemy vehicles. This system has the ability to classify the physically newlineexisting objects like tank, jeep, tetra truck in real time, using thermal imaging cameras during newlinenight time as well as in bad weather conditions which may include dust, rain, fog and other newlineatmospheric turbulences causing distortion or noise to the captured targeted vehicle. The newlinetrajectory model is developed to shoot detected target vehicle in calculated time at accurate newlineposition. The work accomplished in the thesis has given birth to a patent titled as Method and newlineApparatus to facilitate classification of images into one or more categories through a single newlineBoard Computer and a copyright ( Software of Path Prediction, SW-7909/2014) registered in newlinethe year 2014. newlineThe traditional methods of surveillance used at border are manually controlled, while the newlineautomatic target detection and shooting itself is capable to take decision of target selection and newlinehitting. This is more effective and permanent solution for the sites where human survival is newlinedifficult. The system has been incorporated with different kind of sensors and modules, so that newlineonce the target are detected, system is able to calculate the future position of target to hit it newlinewithout any error. The reliability depends on both detection and firing modules individually. newlineThe motivation and detailed framework is critically reviewed with description for Automatic newlineTarget Detection and Shooting System (ATDS) along with different classification and shooting newlinemodules .This kind of automated system has been built to follow a defined path by capturing the newlineimage of target object. The sensors like infrared sensor or laser sensor have been used to trace newlinetheir path to make use of motion planning with complete informa
