Abstract

India has witnessed a tremendous industrial growth ever since its Independence in 1947. Besides a phenomenal rise in the number of industrial units there has also been a considerable increase in service sector especially after liberalization giving rise to complex business situations. In the present state of affairs, it has become very difficult to manage efficiently the various factors viz., men, money, materials and machines. Of these factors, human resources occupy the most important place, it is this factor which plans, organizes, coordinates and controls all other factors of production. newline
