Abstract: | Heterocyclic compounds play a key role in the areas of organic chemistry. They are contributing to the development of society from a biological and industrial point of view as well as to the understanding of life processes and to the efforts to improve the quality of life. Nitrogen and sulfur containing heterocycles are frequently found in many biological important molecules and their chemistry has been an interesting branch of organic chemistry as it offers a challenging task in the development of new synthetic strategies. In last two decades organic chemists were able to synthesize new type of complex functionalized structure as powerful drugs by the help of new methodologies. Schiff bases and and#946;-lactam have become the centre of attention for many synthetic, medicinal, theoretical chemists and biologist because of their utility as synthetic intermediate and pharmacological activity. newline |
