Abstract: | Blackgram is important pulse crop grown in different part of India.Vignamungo(L.)Hepper commonly known as urdbean belong to family Leguminoseae, sub family Papilionaceae. There is more number of constraints in low production in Blackgram in India, out of those insect pests play major role in low production. The blackgram is attacked by various insect pests and disease with substantial losses in terms of yield. But only few of them caused severe damage to the crop. Among them, whitefly, jassid, aphid, thrips, spotted pod borer are most important pests that damage blackgram very severely. Experiments were conducted to find out thePopulation dynamics of major insect pests of blackgram [Vignamungo(L.) Hepper] and their management during the experimental period. Efforts were also made to evolve most effective and economical control ofWhitefly and spotted pod borer attacking the crop at Agricultural Research Farm, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, during Kharif 2014-15 and 2015-16. newline |
