Abstract: Coastal lagoon acts as a paradise for a range of creatures which are not only an essential resource for human life and productive activities but also play a significant role in the biogeochemical and hydrological cycles The alteration of natural land cover to agricultural urban and industrial development has increased loading to streams and rivers that expulsion into lagoons leading to deterioration in water quality and biotic impacts and diminishing recreational and commercial usesAs these lagoons are very productive ecosystems morphological variations and interdependencies of the physical chemical and biological components are imperative for an integrated approach towards the multiple use of a shallow lagoon ecosystem keeping sustainability central to the ma newline
