Abstract

Distillation is a procedure in which a fluid or vapor blend of atleast two substances is isolated into its component fractions of desired purity by application and expulsion of heat Distillation is applied in various process industries for purification of intermediate and final product streams and for separating feed streams Distillation control is an interesting multivariable problem and improvement in distillation control has a potential to considerably increase the profit In a cascade control configuration there is one manipulated variable newlineand more than one measurement. In this scheme there will be two controllers newlinesuch as a primary and secondary controller The primary controller output is newlinedesigned to decide the reference value of the secondary controller which in newlineturn delivers a signal to the final control component The primary controller newlinereceives feedback from the process output whereas the secondary controller newlinereceives the feedback signal from the intermediate stage of the process newlineCascade control is classified in two types such as series cascade and parallel newlinecascade newline newline
