Abstract: Several imaging modalities like X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, PET and SPECT are newlineavailable for research studies. Every technique provides some exclusive and often corresponding classification of fundamental structure and also aid in detection of diseases. Image registration is an important technique in image processing that can be applied to match two images which are obtained from different imaging modalities at different times with different sensors or from different viewpoints. Image registration presents the complete information of the image to be analyzed. By applying two imaging modalities, the information which is missed in any one of the image newlinetechnique can be substantiated by the multichannel image which are obtained from newlinemulti-techniques. Medical image registration is nothing but the medical image fusion newlinetechnique which plays a very important role in medical diagnosis, surgery, treatment and research. Registration is a very significant component that includes matching a target with a real time image of a scene for target recognition and aligning images from different medical modalities for diagnosis. Based on the registration information, newlinedifferent techniques are classified and these techniques describes choices on the basis of pre-processing of images, interpolation of grey value, optimization, adaptations to the mutual information measure. Accurate assessment of lymph node status is of crucial importance for appropriate treatment planning and determining prognosis in patients with gastric cancer. The aim of this research is to review the current role of imaging in assessing Lymph Node (LN) status in gastric cancer. The virtual navigator newlineis an advanced technique that allows the real time visualization of ultrasound images with other reference images. The proposed work uses the gastric cancer MRI, gastric cancer CT and gastric cancer PET scanning techniques as a reference image and compares all the three fusion imaging modalities. The objective of the proposed work is to registering and fusing the images
