Abstract: newlineAutism is a neurodevelopmental disorder which is diagnosed in early childhood. It is a lifelong brain disorder. It is diagnosed generally before age three and is inborn. Kanner was the first person to use autism in its modern sense. Autism is characterized by difficulties in social interaction, impairment in communication and a restricted interests and repetitive behavior. The symptoms and their severity vary widely in these three primary areas. Autism is not diagnosed by a single symptom. Every child on autism spectrum is unique. newlineImpairment in language and communication is considered one of the central features of autism. It involves both verbal and nonverbal communication. Communication is the transmission and reception of information. It involves the use of language in social interaction.
