Abstract: | India is the second most populous country having 1210 million populations. newlineAmong them 623 million people are main worker, 119 million people are the newlinemarginal worker and 729 million people are not engaged in any type of working newlineactivity or they are non-worker. This proportion varies with the gender and age newlinedistribution of population where we have found that male are more engaged in newlineeconomic activities in comparison to female. Total 273 million male are main newlineworkers and about 59 million are marginal workers. Similarly, only 89 million newlinefemale are engaged in main economic activities and 61 million are marginal newlineworkers. When we come to know the distribution of workers by non-working newlinecategory, we found that 437 million female populations is not engaged in any newlineeconomic activity and this two times more than male non-working population (i.e. newline291 million). newlineIn newline |
