Agricultural labour is one of the most deprived and newlineoppressed segment of the Indian social setup The promotion newlineof the welfare of these labourers has been the concern of newlineboth the Government of India ahd many voluntary organisations newlineThe government apart from a series of welfare programmes newlineenacted various social legislations to protect the social and newlineeconomic rights of these labourers One among them is the newlineMinimum Wages Act 1948 Inspite of these welfare programmes newlineand social legislations the conditions of the agricultural newlinelabourers has remained the same Some of the voluntary organisations newlinein their programmes of promoting the welfare_ of the newlineagricultural labourers atively supporting the implementation newlineof the Minimum Wages Act This study aims to find out the newlineinfluences of the Minimum Wage Act on the working conditions of newlinethe agricultural labourers because of the interve ntion of a newlinevoluntary organisation newline
