Abstract: Black pepper (Piper nigrum L.) is one of the economically important commodity plants that newlinecontributes and earns considerable amount of revenue by export and domestic market. Black newlinepepper is affected by several diseases of which Phytophthora foot rot caused by P. capsici is newlinethe most devastative causing severe economic losses. The crop being a perennial newlineconventional breeding is laborious and time consuming. The present study was undertaken with newlinean objective to phenotype and genotype the diversity population of black pepper for Phytophthora newlineresistance and study genetic diversity existing within Phytophthora population. newline
