Abstract: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) constitutes 95% of all diabetes incidence. The greatest newlineincrease between now and 2030 will be in India, from 19.4 to 57.2 million. Yoga newlineconstitutes one of India s many priceless gifts for its management, of perennial value to newlinethe human family. New methods for tracking subtle changes that occur at the newlinepsychological and prana levels before the disease sets in may go a long way to preventing newlineit. They include tools like Gas Discharge Visualiser (GDV) and Acugraph Digital newlineMeridian imaging system. AcuGraph is an instrument specially designed for newlineelectrodermal measurement of meridian bio-impedance. Its particular use for the newlineassessment of T2DM is the subject of this thesis. These instruments bring better newlineunderstanding of how Yoga can manage, prevent and Stop Diabetes !The aim of the study was to examine the efficacy of IAYT on DM and Industrial newlineManagers and Executives using AcuGraph. newlineThe objectives were: newline1. To compare T2 DM and Normal healthy subjects. newline2. To compare Industrial Managers and Normal healthy subjects. newline3. To compare HIV infected children and Non-infected children. newline4. To compare Depression and Normal healthy subjects. newline5. To examine whether changes in Acugraph readings in T2DM patients following newlineIAYT indicate movement towards normalcy. newline6. To examine whether the changes in Acugraph readings in Managers following newlineSMET indicate movement towards normalcy. Two study designs were used: two group cross-sectional design for the Baseline newlinecomparisons of Type 2 DM, Managers, HIV, Depression with their respective Normal newlinehealthy groups. Pre-post design was adopted for Acugraph Assessment of the effect of newlineIAYT on Type 2 DM and the effect of Stress Management of Executive Tension (SMET) newlineon Managers. newline
