Abstract: | The variations in Tridoñas are the basis for disease diagnosis and treatment in and#256;yurveda. newlineTraditionally doñas were assessed by sensing the radial pulse manually with fingers which newlinedepends on skill of the physician. There is a need to measure doñas using instruments and study newlinethem objectively as evidence based research is gaining importance in accepting any medicine or newlinesystem of medicine.Arterial stiffness is a pulse parameter and has a significant research and clinical interest in newlinemodern medicine. The aim of the research was to measure the arterial stiffness from Tridoña newlinelocations of radial artery and investigate the significance of arterial stiffness in Tridoña analysis. newlineThe following studies were conducted to investigate the significance of arterial stiffness. newlineand#61623; TRIDOSA STUDY: significant variations of arterial stiffness across Tridoña locations. newlineand#61623; DIABETES STUDY: association of arterial stiffness with Type 2 Diabetes. newlineand#61623; OBESITY STUDY: effect of one week Integrated Approach of Yoga Therapy (IAYT) newlineon arterial stiffness across young and older adults with obesity.Subjects were recruited from participants of yoga camps conducted by S-VYASA and also from newlineparticipants who joined Aryogyadhama to undergo one week integrated yoga therapy program. newlineData collection was done at the beginning of the yoga camp from the participants of the camp newlineand the data was collected at the beginning and end of the one week integrated yoga therapy newlineprogram from the participants of Arogyadhama. The arterial stiffness parameters namely newlinestiffness index (SI) and reflection index (RI) were considered for the study. The results of all the three studies are summarized below. newline |
