Abstract: This study aims to find out the educational discriminatory experiences of the Scheduled Caste newlinestudents in academic and non academic spaces in permanently unaided Private schools. The data newlinefor this study is collected through open and closed ended responses from the respondents who newlineare accessing formal private education institutions and being there. Thus, this study refers to the newlineexperiences of discriminatory and exclusionary of the scheduled caste students. It includes newlineinteraction within and outside of the classroom, responses of the teachers about scheduled caste newlinestudents, SC student s responses about curriculum, teaching, classroom experiences and also newlineabout opportunities, participation, in extracurricular activities such as sport, cultural activities newlineand competitions in the elite private institutions. It has shaped the larger socio economic and newlineexclusionary experiences due to historical cultural context. The researcher had three objectives to newlineidentify adequate information on above components. Firstly, to study socio-economic newlinebackground of scheduled caste students studying in the private schools, basically it is related to newlinethe income structure and material things at home. Secondly, to study the participation of students newlineand opportunities offered to them in curriculum and extra-curricular activities in the schools, this newlineobjective addresses different types of exposures and facilities offered in the school. Finally, it newlineaims to identify the different forms of case-based discrimination faced by the SC students in the newlineprivate schools, thus it acquires information on the discriminatory and exclusionary experiences newlineand challenges faced by the Scheduled caste students in the schools environments. This study newlinewas undertaken in Chiplun block of Ratnagiri District, Maharashtra. 100 scheduled caste newlinerespondents were interviewed with the help of structure interview scheduled through the method newlineof survey design as a quantitative approach.
