Abstract: Introduction: Quality is a vital component in this world. The key reason behind this newlineimportance to quality is, it s directly proportionate on improving the performance of newlineoutcome. Initially, hospital quality efforts are focused on input quality with a focus on newlineadvanced technology, highly trained personnel and physicians. Recently, the definition newlineof quality has expanded to include process and outcome quality too. These trends have newlinemade quality become a strategic functionality for hospitals. Understanding the newlineimportance of quality, every health care provider in the country has implemented a newlinequality management system in their delivery process, may be of own quality system or newlinederived from national or international standards. In addition to the mere implementation newlineof the quality system, it is mandated by accreditation bodies and responsibility of the newlineaccredited hospital to ensure its sustainability and also to evaluate the performance of newlinethe system periodically. newlineResearch Problem: On evaluating the performance of the hospital in recent times, the newlineconcerning factor related to quality is that even after an extensive effort in improving newlinethe outcome of care, it remains as poor. Many studies have explained that despite the newlineavailability of quality health care, quantifiable improvement is low due to problems of newlineaccessibility, service availability, patient safety and poor quality. On the one hand, newlinehospitals claim by following the system mandated by the accredited bodies from whom newlinethey have received accreditation. On the other hand, for many organizations, there may newlinebe a question whether accreditation is worth the time, effort and cost, as well as newlinewhether or not it demonstrates a quantifiable improvement in healthcare delivery and newlineoutcomes. This contradiction gives general concern whether such accreditations really newlinelead to better performance of the organization and economic viability. In addition to newlineabove two aspects, there is a third dimension too, which has revealed through various newlinestudies that......
