Abstract: | Mobile Ad hoc Network has high influence in wireless ad hoc communication and provides proficient communication for the applications where a group communication is required. At the outset, MANET was used for military communication and operations, robotized combat zone, recuperation from natural calamity, search and rescue operations, and so forth. At the time of natural calamity, it is easy to set-up a mobile ad hoc network as compared to a wired network. In short time, MANET has received the conspicuous consideration of academician and researchers due to the captivating properties of building a communication network with ease, low deployment time, and zero dependency on fixed infrastructure. It has been anticipated for various mobile computing applications such as tracking environmental conditions, healthcare, smart classroom, and so forth. newlineIn the domain of most recent computational gadgets and high-speed mobile communication, MANET is expected to offer support for File Transfer, Web Pages, Electronic mail, Remote Access, and Domain name services etc. All of these services require reliable data communication and use Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) at the transport layer of the protocol stack. As more than 90% of applications and services on the internet are built over TCP, it is clear that the role of TCP will be crucial in MANETs. Despite the fact that TCP is broadly utilized, reliable, end-to-end transport layer protocol over wired networks, many researchers in their research work have demonstrated that its performance is significantly degraded in Mobile Ad hoc Networks. newlineAn end-to-end layered based methodology, which is easy to implement and has low arrangement expense, can enhance TCP performance in MANETs, in the event that it can separate the packet losses by recognizing different network states, for example, network congestion, wireless channel errors, route failure, and so forth. Thus, in order to enhance TCP performance in MANET, an incremental approach is used to propose an end-to-end transport laye |
