Abstract: The field of optics entered a new era of science known as nonlinear optics (NLO) newlinewith the invention of the laser by Maiman in 1960. NLO is the study of interaction newlineof intense light with matter in the regime, where the response of the material system newlineis related nonlinearly to the applied electromagnetic field. The field NLO has a vital newlinerole to play in the domain of emerging light- based technology, since this newlinetechnology can replace many of the existing semiconductor electronics and form newlinethe basis of fast photonics technology. Third order non- resonant nonlinearity is newlineexpected to play a key role in information processing application. While moving to newlinephoton mediating technology, the supporting accessories also have to be replaced newlineby suitable materials. newline
