In the present competitive world, unit managers play a lead role in promoting success to their firms; hence it is essential to know the characteristics of managers which impact the firm s performance. Moreover, there are lot of researches conducted with respect to emotional intelligence and their benefits; however, there is a lack of empirical evidence obtainable to supplement the association between the emotional intelligence constituents in individual managers and higher performance at work. Therefore, this study attempts to study the relationship between leadership style, managers emotional intelligence, and unit s culture on the performance of the Indian banking sector. Furthermore, the study attempts to analyse the elements which influence the performance wherein a theoretical framework built on the perceived human capital based performance is developed. The present study carried out research with respect to the relationship between select demographic variables (e.g. age, gender, education level, tenure) and its performance. newline
