Abstract: Marginalisation of Dalits denotes their wretched conditions in the Indian society. They are socio-economic-cultural and politically exploited for ages. After many years of independence, they are still facing discrimination and untouchability. Dalit discourse voices the humiliated and stigmatised experiences of the underprivileged. They are fighting for survival in the society and trying to claim their rights. This research examines the attempt of Dalits in constructing an identity under the influence of education.
