Systematic development of optimized nanostructured systems of galantamine and berberine with improved biopharmaceutical attributes

Abstract

The work encompasses systematic development of diverse nanoconstructs viz, nanomicelles, newlinenanolipidic carriers (NLCs), phospholipid-NLC complexes, chitosan nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes of galantamine and berberine, for management of Alzheimer s Disease, employing quality by design (QbD) paradigms and their characterization through cell lines studies, biochemical estimation, in vitro release, in vivo pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies, and IVIVC. The developed nanostructured systems successfully demonstrate improved bioavailability of the bioactives and/or their permeability across brain, thus augmenting their therapeutic potential in neurodegenerative disorders. newline
