Abstract: Photoionization is a basic process in the field of atomic spectroscopy to understand the characteristics of an atomic/molecular target. The quantum mechanical problem of the hydrogen atom can be solved exactly for its energy eigenvalues and wavefunctions. For a many electron system, approximation methods are essential. Electron correlations play an important role in understanding dynamical processes in the atomic/molecular systems. Observable parameters of the photoionization processes therefore require many-body techniques for comparison with the experimental data. newline
