dc.description.abstractThis study evaluates use and effectiveness of UGC-Infonet digital library newlineconsortium of eight non-agricultural universities in Maharashtra. It attempts to search newlinethe problems and find out solutions of university library users i.e. faculty members, newlineresearch scholars and post graduate students by researcher. In this present study newlineinformation has clearly indicates that the electronic resources are highly useful for the newlineresearch and community. To assist the academic community the authorities of the newlineuniversity library must conduct the user awareness programmes to train the research newlineand academic community in the maximum utilization of these electronic resources newlinemore effectively. The reason of this research is to check usefulness and growth of newlineelectronic resources like electronic journals, electronic databases. UGC-Infonet is newlineboon to the higher education system in many ways thus becomes a resource for newlinefaculty members, research scholars and post graduate students for accepting the most newlineup to date information. newlineIn this information age there is so much of information being generated that newlinewe are challenged with information explosion, information pollution and exponential newlinegrowth of information. Due to this the people are confuse about the information need, newlineinformation access and information sources. The electronic books are helpful because newlineof their portability and its feature of incorporating more than one book in a single newlinehand device. The current study is based on what is the major resources usage of UGCInfonet newlinedigital library consortium. newlineThe statement of the problem of present study is as following: newlineTitle of the study is Use, Problems and Solutions of UGC-Infonet newlineconsortium in Maharashtra newlineFollowings are the explanations of some important concepts as definitional analysis: newline Definition of e-journals newlineJones (W) in 1998 defined e-journals as they are available electronically via a newlinecomputer or computer network that they may or may not be published in some other newline(physical) medium, but that they are not in CD-ROM or diskettes.
