Characterization of micrococcus strain isolated from arid region of Rajasthan

Abstract

Arid region of Rajasthan have lot of microbial diversity in soil. So many micro-organisms are beneficial for human in health, food products, soil fertility and so many recombinant products. On the other hand so many micro-organisms are responsible for causing disease in human, domestic animals, wild animals, in agriculture products, soil pollution, and environment pollution. So many bacterial stains, fangs and viruses are present in soil. Some bacterial strains are very useful for human, if we know about these organisms. One bacterial species i.e. Micrococcus sp. abundantly found in our environment as social bacteria, but it can cause disease opportunistically in human, animal and crops. On the other hand generally it is found as non pathogenic bacteria in our environment. So find out non-pathogenic and beneficial bacterial species of bacteria, total 65 samples were collected from thirteen site of arid region of Rajasthan. Out of these samples only three were finalized for further study i.e. AK5, AK8 and AK9 (these were collected from Bikaner, Churu and Jhunjhunu district head quarter of Rajasthan. Total 65 samples were collected from 13 arid region of Rajasthan. Various biochemical and antibacterial tests were performed for characterization of theses 13 samples. After these tests three samples were selected (AK5, AK8 and AK9). These three samples were tested for biopolymer production, viscosity of these bacterial strains, proteins, Carbohydrate, fatty acid, FTIR and DNA profile. One sample (AK9) was found most similar to the micrococcus sp. which is use full for the human for various biopolymer productions, lubricating oils, petroleum products and aliphatic hydrocarbons at commercial level with other products.
