dc.description.abstractHigh sports performance is not merely the product of physical, psychic and physiological prerequisites possessed by newlinean individual sportsman. High performances are achieved after newlineprolonged periods of training supported directly or indirectly by newlinethe society. Therefore high performance should also be newlineconsidered as an expression of social will and efficiency. It is now newlinean accepted fact in performances sports that a society which actively and consciously supports the training and competition newlinesystem is able to win more medals in international competitions. Maximum athletic performance is predicated on training newlineconcepts that are applied in the daily practice sessions over extended periods of time. This cumulative effect of daily training newlineunits serves as the building blocks of bio motor development. It is necessary to select the proper training units that will be most newlinebeneficial to the athlete with concern in regards to the efficiency newlineand economical principles of training. The application of these principles combined with the proper training plants in a periodised process will allow the athlete to achieve optimum athletic performance. newlineen_US
