DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF UWB AND MIMO ANTENNAS FOR WIRELESS APPLICATIONS

Abstract

This thesis emphasis on design and analysis of miniatured UWB antenna with enhanced bandwidth for portable applications. In this thesis five UWB antennas are designed and characterized, These antennas are studied and analyzed through extensive simulations and then verified experimentally. In first chapter an introduction on UWB and MIMO technology is presented.The state of art on UWB monopole and multiple antenna is carried out in the next chapter. In the third chapter, a novel design of microstrip linefed rhombus shaped slot antenna is presented. In the fourth chapter, a beakshaped monopole like slot UWB antenna is proposed. A miniaturized design of UWB monopole antenna is presented and investigated for oil pipeline imaging in the fifth chapter. In the sixth chapter, a compact MIMO antenna with high isolation for modern wireless UWB applications is presented .Further MIMO antenna with dual band notch characteristics for wireless UWB applications is presented in the seventh chapter.The major findings of the entire investigations are summarized in the last chapter. newline
