Abstract: | In the present study, Fictional Techniques and Rhetorical Devices in the Fiction of newlineArun Joshi the researcher is interested in studying the novel with reference to technique; it newlinecan be seen as evolving towards perfection in the twentieth century. The first major concern newlineof the present research work, the fictional technique, was brought to the forefront and worked newlineout as a broad theoretical frame by the shift in fictional views. A more inclusive historical and newlinetheoretical move did not accept the conventional fictional elements like plot, character, newlinedialogue etc. as central to the considerations about the novel. These considerations came to be newlinereplaced by the new view of the narrative. The view of the narrative gave more emphasis on newlinethe technical perfection and formal refinement. newlineThe other important part of the present study is the rhetorical devices used by the newlinenovelist in his novels in order to express their point of view. The devices include overall use newlineof language, the structure and substance of words. Various devices used by the novelist to newlinemake his subject matter reach to his readers. The verbal structure of a novel shows the kind of newlinerhetorical devices used by the novelist. The rhetorical devices incorporate the stylistic features newlineof the prose writing, the syntax of the writing, the choice of words and sentence patterns, tone newlineand style of the narrator, use of irony and imagery in accordance with the subject matter. The newlinenovelist is in fact free to explore any mode of writing or speaking known to him. The novelist newlineuses formal rhetorical devices like alliteration, personification, images, ironies and the newlinesyntactical organization. newlineObjectives of Research: newline1.
