Abstract: Science and technology in the field of Prosthodontics are continuously improving to cater for oral health care of the human being. Further practice of prosthodontics and the supporting technology involved has transformed tremendously from the traditional to the contemporary. As a result of development of new technology to meet the demands of severity of changes to meet the changing demands of treatment and new methods and products are increased tremendously. For such development, basic knowledge is essential. newlineThe physician derives clues about the status of a patient based on the patient s qualitative descriptions of pains, symptoms and quantitative data at his disposal. It is reported that collection of accurate data from the patient at the health care level is difficult. Further the relevant information provided by the patient may not be accurate and sufficient to decide for correct treatment. As on date, there is no system to find out the exact pain level of the patient because it is totally dependent on communication received from the patient and the availability of inadequate diagnostic tools. As such, it becomes problematic to have the correct history and provide proper medication. In practice understanding physiological and pathological and pathological vital symptoms become the base for medical practitioner for correct diagnosis. It must be supported by instrumental data in standard format for comparison and make quantitative analysis for proper treatment. To be a good dental practitioner, adequate knowledge about occlusion is essential. There has been an increasing interest amongst clinicians on the biomechanical behavior associated with occlusion. Dentistry requires thorough assessment of the articulation of the teeth/prosthesis with respect to simultaneous contacts, biting time and biting force. Due to human error and lack of diagnostic information, it is not possible to measure the exact dental occlusion forces. It is complex in nature and requires subjective decision. The human error may be minimized,
