Abstract: Liver diseases stands as fifth most common cause of death in the world as well as liver diseases are the second leading cause of mortality amongst all digestive diseases. Globally about 1.4 million people die of viral hepatitis. Liver is a major susceptible organ to get injured. Liver injury whether it is acute or chronic initiates with the inflammation. which is also related to different stress conditions. When excess damage occurs, intense inflammatory responses are required and when these responses fail it results in massive loss of hepatocytes which ultimately causes irreversible damage to liver parenchyma. Although treatment options exist for most of the liver diseases, many types remain incurable and the emergence of drug resistance is pervasive. Nearly half of the agents used in liver therapy today are either natural products or derivatives of natural products. Several phytochemicals that have been identified and showed promising activity, are Wogonin , Glycyrrhizin. newline
