A Study on The Opinions of Faculty and Recruiters on Determinants of Quality and Employability Skills in Business Management Education in Gujarat

Abstract

Aim: The basic aim of this study is to find out ways for quality improvements in the present business management education system by studying varied determinants of quality such as quality of students, pedagogy, curriculum, infrastructure, etc. that determine the quality of an MBA program. newlineMaterials and Methods: For this a survey has been conducted considering the faculty members of MBA program and the recruiters who hire the management graduates in their companies. A sample size of 498 respondents has been taken from Gujarat including the faculty members and the recruiters using a questionnaire as the research instrument and informal interviews as methods of data collection for the study. newlineResults and Discussion: The study reflects the analysis on the opinions of faculty members and recruiters on the determinants of quality and the employability aspects of management graduates. newlineConclusion(s): Although there is a rising demand for management graduates the academicians are unable to place the major chunk of these MBAs in the industry as they lack specific knowledge of the entry-level jobs. The study highlights the specific issues and concerns in business management education. Thus, this research benefits industry and academics both by seeking to improvise strategies and structure to empower management graduates with more street-smartness. newline
