The ethanolic extracts of leaves of Boerhavia diffusa were evaluated for their in vitro and in newlinevivo antioxidant, antidiabetic and cardioprotective potential in streptozotocin and isoproterenol newlineinduced rats. The active constituents and in silico molecular docking of the compound present in newlineBoerhavia diffusa were also further elucidated. In vivo studies were followed by the oral administered newlinewith the leaf extract for a period of 45 days. The blood samples were collected by cardiac puncture to newlinecarry the clinical investigations and the organs such as liver, kidney and pancreas were excised to newlineperform the histopathological analysis by fixing in 10% formalin solution. Oral administration with newlinethe leaf extract and drugs have altered the biochemical and histopathological. The phytochemical newlinescreening and the spectral studies also confirmed the presence of major secondary compounds in the newlineextract. The docking studies also showed good docking score and satisfied the Lipinski rule which is a newlinerefinement of drug likeliness. The results of the present study revealed that the ethanolic extract of newlineleaves of Boerhavia diffusa possess antidiabetic and cardioprotective properties which might be due to newlinethe presence of bioactive components justifying its ethnomedical use. newlinei) Major objectives: newlineThe present study was formulated with the following objectives: newlineo To assess the antioxidants and antidiabetic activity of leaves and seeds of newlineBoerhavia diffusa by in vitro newlineo To analyze the antidiabetic and cardioprotective potential of Boerhavia diffusa newlineexperimental rats. newlineo To identify the active constituents present in Boerhavia diffusa. newlineo To study the molecular interaction of the active compound with the selected protein newlinetargets by in silico newlineii) Hypothesis: newlineThe hypothesis set up for the present study are as follows: newlineNull hypothesis (H0): The Leaves of Boerhavia diffusa do not possess antidiabetic and newlinecardioprotective property newlineAlternate hypothesis (HA): The Leaves of Boerhavia diffusa exhibits antidiabetic and newlinecardioprotective property
