dc.description.abstractThe main objective of the current research work is to develop nanoencapsulatedpolyherbal wound newlinedressing. Initially, market survey and consumer survey were conducted to elicit information regarding the newlinechoice of fabric and their preference regarding herbal wound dressing. Six antimicrobial plants for group A and newlinefour essential oil plants for group B were chosen for pilot study which was streamed down to three newlineantimicrobial plants Aloevera, Aervalanataand Tectonagrandis and two essential oil plants newlineRosmarinusofficinalis and Melaleucaalternifolia were finalised after preliminary antibacterial assessment. The newlinechosen plants were optimised individually for concentration and temperature based on their antibacterial newlineactivity. The optimised parameters were taken for further study to prepare polyherbal formulated combination newlineof antimicrobial plants with essential oil plants for different ratio and temperature. The combination with newlineexcellent antibacterial activity was selected as the final combinations. These combinations were newlinenanoencapsulated by coacervation method. Then the polyherbal combination and nanopolyherbal combination newlinewere finished on the fabric using ultrasonic atomiser which was then developed into multilayered wound newlinedressing. The finished fabrics were evaluated for physical, mechanical, absorbency, antibacterial, surface newlinemorphology and chemical composition. The finish which exhibited superior qualities was evaluated for newlinebiocompatibility by in vitro cytotoxicity and in vivo excision wound healing property.
