dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study is to make a comparative study between newlineSana a University (a public sector) and University of Science and newlineTechnology (a private sector) in Yemen regarding the implementation newlineprocess of the HRM practices applied in both universities on the basis of newlineHR planning, HR selection and placement, HR training, HR incentives, HR newlinepromotion, HR rewards, HR performance appraisal. The study is newlineundertaken in order to find out the shortcomings of such practices and to newlinemake recommendations and the possible solutions for the development of newlinehuman resource management practices in both the universities under newlinestudy. newlineIn order to achieve the study objectives, the researcher has designed newlinea questionnaires, which consists of fifty-three questions which were newlinedistributed to the two universities (Sana a University) and (University of newlineScience and Technology) in Yemen. The researcher has determined the newlinesample size on the basis of the community size with an average not less newlinethan (14%) as defined by statisticians. Therefore, the community sample newlinewas selected randomly, by using sample random technique, from the newlineadministrative employees of the middle and lower management levels in newlineboth universities. One hundred questionnaire were distributed at Sana a newlineUniversity by (14%) of the studied community. All the same, number of newline(70) questionnaires were distributed at the University of Science and newlineTechnology by (14%) of the studied community. Eighty (80) questionnaires newlinewere retrieved from Sana a University with a respondent rate of (80%) of newlinethe distributed ones. Sixty-five (65) questionnaires were retrieved from the newlineUniversity of Science and Technology with a respondent rate of (93%) of the newline(v) newlinedistributed ones. The number of rejected questionnaires from Sana a newlineUniversity (5) while at the University of Science and Technology were (7). newlineTherefore, the total number of analysis at Sana a University (75), while at newlinethe University of Science and Technology were (58). newlineThe Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software has been newlineused for
