Abstract: Today s primary education is strengthened by Simplified Activity Based Learning (SABL). newlineThe key feature of the SABL method is that it uses child-friendly educational aids to foster selflearning newlineand allows a child to study according to his or her aptitude and skill; it hopes to change the newlineface of primary education. Under the system, the curriculum is divided into small units, each group of newlineSelf Learning Materials (SLM) comprising attractively designed study cards for English, Tamil, newlineMathematics, Science and Social Science. The multi sensory approach ensures learning. A total of 80 newlinesamples, 40 visually impaired and 40 hearing impaired included in the Coimbatore primary schools newlinefrom I to IV standard were selected. The Students with visual/hearing impairment are in need of newlineadaptation to access the cards. newlineIn the first phase observation was made to examine the difficulties faced by the sample in the newlineuse of existing SABL cards and they were pre tested. The Math SABL cards were adapted using newlineBraille/sign language/pictures to suit the needs of the visually/hearing impaired. In the second phase, newlinethe teachers both special and classroom were oriented on the use of adapted SABL cards and sought newlinetheir assistance in the use of the cards. The investigator involved in training the children and newlinemonitored children in all 6 blocks on rotation basis whether the implementation is going on as newlineplanned. The consumed major portions of the research study. In addition the opinions of the teachers newlinewere collected with option scale. In the third phase, the academic achievement of children was newlineassessed keeping formative and summative assessments as parameters. The statistical analysis revealed newlinethat the adaptations made were of great help in uplifting the academic achievement of the students newlinewith visual/hearing impairment. newlinei) Major objectives : newlineThe objectives of the study are to newline1. explore the Math Simplified Activity Based Learning (SABL) cards and identify the range and newlinethe extent of usage by Children With Visual Impairment(CWVI) and Children Wit
