dc.description.abstract | The credit of some of the most important innovations in the field of automotive industry goes to information and communication technology The mobile communications have changed our lifestyle and it is possible to exchange information anywhere at any time. Today it has been made possible to use such mobile communication systems in vehicle too. A VANET is a special case of Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) in which vehicles are moving on roads with wireless processing capabilities can create a spontaneous network. This new approach of shairing information among vehicles will enable several applications for safety, driver assistance, information and urban sensing. These applications will be available in the forms of intra vehicle, vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication. The concept of this network of vehicles has gained popularity all over the world. The objectives behind this are to greater ensurity and make passengers time more enjoyble on road. VANET are capable of providing information regarding traffic jams, weather conditions, accidents, hazardous road conditions and location of facilities like gas stations, Restaurants. VANETs helps in controlling the road network, maintain low vehicle operating costs and creating shorter and more predictable journey times. Today a large number of car manufactures are launching vehicles loaded with onboard computing and wireless communication devices, sensors and navigation systems, all in prepartion of deploying large-scale vehicular networks. By using different sensors, cameras and communication capabilities, vehicles as collect and interpret information with the purpose of assisting the driver to make decision. The primary aim of this technology working behind VANETs and discussing in prospective aspects in coming future. newline | |
