Abstract: | Chemistry of six-member phosphorus-heterocycles and their derivatives have newlinereceived considerable attention because of high antitumor and antimicrobial activities. newlineThe common approach for the synthesis of oxazaphosphinine and its derivatives by newlinecyclization with P(V) precursors like phosphorus oxychloride and thiophosphoryl newlinechloride is described in the literature. However, to the best of our knowledge there is newlineno reports for the synthesis of such phosphorus heterocycles from P(III) precursors newlinelike PCl3 and PhPCl2 and then their oxidation to P(V) derivatives with DMSO, newlineelemental sulfur and selenium. Herein, we report the synthesis of six-membered newlinephosphorus-heterocycles with P(III) precursors like PCl3 and PhPCl2 and then their newlineoxidation to P(V) derivatives with DMSO, elemental sulfur and selenium. newlineThe Chapter-I describes the detailed literature about six-member phosphorusheterocycles newlineand their derivatives. newlineThe Chapter-II describes the experimental manipulations and techniques used to newlineisolate stable compounds and to elucidate their structure. newlineThe Chapter-III provides the chemistry of (3-(4-Methyl-phenyl)-2-phenyl-3,4- newlinedihydro-2H-benzo[e][1,3,2]- oxazaphosphinine), their chalcogenides and metal newlinecomplex. The P-heterocycles (3-(4-Methyl-phenyl)-2-phenyl-3,4-dihydro-2Hbenzo[ newlinee][1,3,2]- oxazaphosphinine), their chalcogenides and metal complex were newlineprepared by reacting salicyldehyde with 4-Methylaniline, reduced by newlinesodiumborohydride and further react with phenyldichlorophosphine. while newlinechalcogenides and metal complex are prepared by reacting 3-(4-Methyl-phenyl)-2-phenyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzo[e][1,3,2]- oxazaphosphinine with elemental sulfur, newlineselenium powder and W(CO)5CH3CN. The structural characterisation of Pheterocycles newlinewas done by elemental analysis and spectroscopic techniques viz. IR, newlineH-NMR, C-NMR, P-NMR, and GC-MS techniques. |
