Pythagorean Triple and its Application in Cryptography

Abstract

User authentication and personal privacy is an important aspect of reliable information system. Key generation and its distribution are fundamental to cryptography for achieving entity authentication, personal privacy, data origin authentication, data integrity and digital signatures. A standard procedure for key distribution requires two parties to exchange publicly viewable data electronically and with that data create a secret key known only to the concerned parties. This secret key is some times termed as a session key. A session key is the basis of a secure communication channel. It can be used with shared-key cryptography to authenticate data in an otherwise insecure communication environment. Key Establishment (KE) protocols, including key-transport and key-exchange protocols, are mechanisms by which a secret session key can be established between a pair of participants over an insecure network.
