To Determine the Periodic Orbits in the Restricted Three Body Problem When the Primaries are Triaxial Rigid Bodies

Abstract

In the present thesis, we have studied the Periodic Orbits in the Restricted Three Body Problem when the Primaries are Triaxial Rigid Bodies and Source of Radiation Pressure . The entire work of this thesis has been presented in four chapters with bibliography at the end. newlineThe first chapter is introductory in nature. It contains the history and development of the problem. The available literature is also reviewed from Euler (1760) to present day. To make the thesis self sufficient, we have also given some definitions, theorems, notations and symbols which have been used in the thesis. newlineThe second chapter deals with the periodic orbits around the collinear libration points in the restricted three body problem (Sun-Earth Case) by assuming the smaller primary i.e. Earth as a triaxial rigid body with one of its axes as the axis of symmetry and its equatorial plane coincident with the plane of motion. In this chapter, we draw the periodic orbits and discuss their stability by taking different and approximate five values of the semiaxes of the Earth. This chapter has been divided into nine sections.
