Abstract: | Arachis hypogaea is an important food, feed and principal oil seed crop which is cultivated on a large scale throughout the world. In India it occupies predominant position. The low yield of groundnut is inadequate input of manures and fertilizers. The continuous using of inorganic fertilizer leads to ecological imbalance with consequent ill effect on soil. The application of biofertilizers are to supply nitrogen and phosphorous to the soil and also shown considerable improvements in growth and yield of plants. This study deals with the application of biofertilizers like Azotobacter, Mycorrhizae and Rhizobium in various inoculations (mono, dual and combined) in Arachis hypogaea L. var TMV-7. For the present study, the morphological, biochemical, oil yielding percentage, physio-chemical properties of oil and estimation of protein by HPLC method were analyzed. In all observations the combined inoculation (Azotobacter + Mycorrhizae + Rhizobium) of biofertilizers recorded the significant results than the mono and dual inoculations. Biofertilizers are environment friendly and they could help to mitigate the onset of global warming as well as to reduce the fertilizer input cost of farmers. |
