Abstract: | The unprecedented growth of digital networks and rapid emergence of multimedia applications in the past decade has yielded a significant growth in transmission of digital media such as text, image, audio and video. Digital revolution has resulted in colossal explosion of knowledge in today s technology driven economy resulting in encouragement and motivation for digitization of intellectual creation or artifact. Digital data exhibits no apparent difference in quality between original work and copy thereof making it impossible to distinguish with only human intervention. This brings challenging and sensitive issue of copyright protection and authenticity in view of respecting originality of the work of creator. newline There is a need to develop a technique to identify original work and illegitimately copied work in the domain of digitized world. This has lead to the development of digital watermarking. Digital watermarking is a process of modifying digital media to embed a machine readable code in multimedia data such as text, image, audio or video. The digital data to be embedded may be in the form of text, audio or image. newlineThe focus of current research work is to develop a novel method for image watermarking. In image watermarking, information is embedded in host image also known as original image or cover image to prove ownership. The information embedded serves as watermark which may be in the form of pseudorandom binary sequence, text or logo image. Authenticating digital images with fair imperceptibility and high detection resolution is the challenge of today s research newline |
