Abstract: The present study is to investigate the Relationship between Self-Efficacy, Emotional Intelligence, Locus of Control and Achievement Motivation of the Special Education Student Teachers in Tamil Nadu . The methodology adopted for the present study was Survey method. The geographical area taken for the present study included the seven districts in Tamil Nadu -Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Salem, Trichy, Sivagangai, Dindigul. From the above mentioned districts 12 Special Education Teacher Training Colleges and institutes were considered for the present study and collected data from 350 samples adopting Purposive Cluster Sampling Technique. To collect the data for the present study the investigator used the The Self-Efficacy questionnaire by Sorensen (1989) , Locus of Control Scale by Rotter (1966). Emotional Intelligence Inventory by Cyberia Shrink (2010),The Achievement Motivation tool constructed by the investigator (2013) . The major findings reveal that nearly 50% of the special education student teachers were found to have moderate level of Self-Efficacy, Emotional Intelligence and Achievement Motivation but more than 75% of them had external Locus of Control. It is also found that there is a significant difference between Self Efficacy and Medium of Instruction, Age Group, Educational Qualification , Nature of Institution. There is also significant difference between emotional intelligence and Presence of Special Educators in the family, Age Group, Educational Qualification, Specialisation,Nature of Institution. Also there is a significant difference between locus of control and Gender, Educational Qualification, Specialisation. There is a significant difference between achievement motivationgroup, locality. The findings also reveals that there is a significant relationship between the Self-Efficacy and Emotional Intelligence , Self-Efficacy and Achievement Motivation, Emotional Intelligence and Achievement Motivation of the special education student teachers. newline
